At least Twenty people have been reported dead after flash floods destroyed multiple homes in Kamuchiri Village Mai Mahiu and cut off traffic along the Nairobi-Naivasha highway.
According to the Kenya Red Cross, the flooding was caused by a neighboring river breaking its banks on Sunday night.
Naivasha police captain Stephen Kirui confirmed the occurrence, stating that numerous others had been brought to Naivasha Hospital for medical attention.
Kenya Police, County Disaster Team, Kenya Red Cross, and community members are on the site.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) issued an advisory on Monday, warning motorists to expect high traffic on the affected routes, which are now inaccessible.
