The police officer who shot her husband 12 times at their home in eldoret claims that he had threatened to kill their children.

Sharon Jepchirchir, Police Constable Lilian Biwott's housekeeper, told Justice Reuben Nyakundi of the Eldoret High Court that the officer used a G3 rifle to kill her husband, Victor Kipchumba at their family home in Kimumu Estate on the night of October 9, 2023.

Jepchirchir informed the court that she overheard Kipchumba accuse the suspect of adultery during a phone call before the tragic incident.

She further stated that Kipchumba informed Lilian that he would kill their three children for her infidelity.

Jepchirchir stated that following the phone conversation, an armed Lilian returned home from her workstation at the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Eldoret branch before confronting her husband in the bedroom.

Jepchirchir, who was in an adjacent bedroom, heard numerous gunshots coming from the couple's bedroom. Lilian fled the site following the incident.

She has now rejected the murder charges and is being imprisoned at Eldoret GK Women's Remand Prison while the trial is ongoing.
