According to a new report by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), Kenya’s exports to other African countries increased by 21.6 percent to 435 billion shillings in 2023 compared to 2022.

In the Economic Survey 2024, KNBS said that Africa contributed 43.2 percent of Kenya’s total export earnings.

“The development was largely supported by an increase in exports to the East African Community bloc, which contributed 30.3 percent of total exports.”

According to the KNBS, Uganda emerged as the largest export destination for Kenyan goods, importing 926 million dollars.

Other key African export markets included Tanzania, which increased its imports of soap and medicaments, and South Sudan, which also expanded its imports of food preparations from Kenya.
