This comes after the DCI issued a harsh warning to those who intended to utilize widespread anti-government rallies to carry out their atrocious acts.
Peaceful protests around the country were turned violent by thugs. The criminals penetrated Nairobi's central business district and other regions to vandalize and steal from businesses.
The Gen Zs who first led these rallies maintained a peaceful relationship with both police and businesses; nevertheless, thugs altered the narrative by robbing several shops and throwing stones at police.
Some demonstrators noticed a shift in the mood, noting that, unlike prior rallies, the most recent was invaded by delinquents who were looting and assaulting the police.
