Police officers in Kericho have launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a 34-year-old man who went missing on Sunday.
According to official police records, Gilbert Kiprotich Rono's body was found floating in a water pan in the neighboring Bariit village.
Area Assistant Chief John Langat verified the incident, claiming Rono went missing Sunday morning.

"Family members thought that he had gone to church on Sunday morning. He never returned home, sparking anxiety among locals," Langat said.
On Monday, family members reported the incident to the Chepseon police station while searching for him.
Residents who were fetching water discovered the body floating and raised the alarm.
Officers from Chepseon police station transported the deceased to the Londiani Sub County Hospital mortuary while investigations continued.
