Two people died on Saturday evening after two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collided along the Mwea-Embu highway in Kirinyaga.
Confirming the incident, Mwea-east sub-county police commander Patrick Nyaanga said that a third person sustained serious injuries in the accident involving two saloon vehicles.
“The two vehicles were travelling in the opposite direction when they collided at the Murubara area,” said Nyaanga.
He urged drivers to be careful and to observe traffic rules when using the busy road.
The two vehicles were towed to Wanguru police station and are waiting for inspection.

Further, the police boss confirmed that the bodies of the deceased were taken to Kibugi mortuary, while the injured was rushed to Mwea mission hospital.
