A growing number of victims in Eldoret are revealing how they were defrauded by Springmark Investments Company, a forex trading firm.

Allegedly, this company has scammed hundreds of residents with accusations against its owner, Ambrose Makech Abuti, for defrauding millions of shillings.

Many worshippers recount their financial losses in Dominion Church, Action Estate, and Eldoret. Abuti, leveraging the church's platform, persuaded them to invest their savings in forex trading, promising high returns.

One of the victims, Susan Waititu, initially invested 240,000 shillings, believing in the promise of an 18% monthly return. Encouraged by the initial promises, she even got her family, including her blind brother, to invest 1.2 million shillings. Collectively, their investments totaled about 5.7 million shillings.

William Getumbe, a music producer and church member, similarly invested in Springmark. He blames the church leadership for endorsing Abuti and pressuring the congregation to invest. Getumbe stated, "The pastor would encourage us to invest, implying that it was a way to support the church."

This isn't an isolated incident; another company run by Abuti's brother-in-law allegedly duped several residents into forex trading investments. The scams have left victims like Susan and Getumbe in financial distress, with mounting debts and no investment returns.

Victims have expressed frustration with law enforcement, accusing them of failing to take effective action. Despite multiple arrests, suspects are often released without facing justice. Attempts to get comments from the church leadership were unsuccessful.
