Police are holding 15 people arrested at the Likoni ferry channel in Mombasa County in connection to a theft incident on Sunday morning.
Confirming the incident. Mombasa County Commissioner Mohamed Noor said the group was part of a crowd traveling across the channel after attending a festival at the nearby Mama Ngina grounds, which ended at around 2 a.m.
“Commuters were crossing the sea using the MV Likoni ferry from Mombasa to Likoni,” police said.
Further, the suspects are said to have robbed festival-goers and roadside sellers, even disrupting transport activities at the ferry terminal before police were called leaving two were injured.
