The Uasin Gishu County Assembly is set to vet Deputy Governor nominee Evans Kapkea on Tuesday, starting the process to fill the position left vacant after Eng. John Barorot's departure in August.
Kapkea, 34, who has represented Tembelio Ward as a Member of the County Assembly, is expected to become the third deputy governor of Uasin Gishu County if the vetting process is successful.
Eng. John Barorot, who served as deputy governor for two years, resigned on August 21, 2024, to take on a new role as Chief Executive Officer at an international ICT firm.
