Police officers in Kakamega County have launched investigations into an incident in which an 11-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide in Malaika, Lugari Constituency.
According to the minor's family, led by Cornelius Mushila, the boy's body was found hanging from the roof in their bathroom.
Further reports indicate that the boy had left home for his uncle's house three days ago and was flogged upon returning.
It is said that he had left home without the consent of his parents.
The family has called for a thorough probe into the incident to ascertain the cause of the boy's death.
