Former United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party Secretary-General Cleophas Malala recently shared on social media the harrowing ordeal faced by his son and 19-year-old brother-in-law, who were allegedly kidnapped and tortured by unidentified individuals.
Malala claims that the two were abducted at gunpoint and subjected to six hours of torture, with their captors demanding to know the whereabouts of Malala and his wife.
The assailants reportedly sought directions to his Kitengela residence. When unable to locate Malala or his spouse, the attackers abandoned the victims along Thika Road.
Malala later picked up his son and brother-in-law, who were left traumatized and shaken by the incident.
This incident follows a turbulent period for Malala, who was removed from his role as Secretary-General of the UDA party by the National Executive Committee on August 2, 2024.
My Son & my 19 year old brother in-law were abducted at gunpoint.

Tortured for 6 hours to disclose my whereabouts or that of my wife and to show them the way to my residence.
On failing to find us at home they dumped them on Thika road; I have picked them, safe but traumatised.
Vice Chairperson Hassan Omar has since taken over the position in the interim. Despite his removal, Malala maintains that he remains the legitimately elected Secretary-General, describing his ouster as politically motivated to destabilize the party's leadership.
Amid ongoing political tensions, Malala has also been involved in the rift between President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
He recently urged President Ruto to dismiss any rumored plans to impeach his deputy, warning that such actions could lead to further instability within the party.
