Following his visit to Port-au-Prince, where he engaged with Haitian political leaders and personnel from the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission, Ruto expressed optimism about Haiti's future.

He highlighted significant early achievements of the MSS, including the reopening of Port-au-Prince’s airport and the resumption of flight operations, alongside the successful retaking of the city's main hospital.

These developments, he noted, are pivotal in revitalizing Haiti’s economy and restoring hope among its citizens.

President Ruto called on the United Nations Security Council to extend the MSS's mandate, asserting that ongoing international support is essential for continued progress.

He proposed innovative funding strategies for the mission and encouraged global partners to enhance their contributions in terms of financial resources, equipment, and logistical support.

“To secure Haiti's future, we must collaborate effectively,” he remarked, acknowledging the valuable contributions from nations like the United States, Canada, and other supportive countries.
