Former Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana is set to return to university lecture rooms as he takes up a Professor role at the Daystar University Law School.
Speaking on X, Kibwana expressed his delight at sharing his expertise in Law and upskilling students who will be undertaking their Master's programs from January 2025.

Kibwana served a 25-year stint at the University of Nairobi (UoN) from 1977 to 2002, where he was an Associate Professor, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, a senior lecturer, and chairman of the Department of Private Law before joining politics.
He obtained a bachelor's degree in law from UoN in 1976.
Further, he holds two Master of Laws degrees from the University of London and Harvard University.
He got his doctorate from George Washington University in 1988.
Prof. Kibwana announced his retirement from elective politics in November 2022, ending a 30-year tenure in public service.
Before being the Makueni MP in 2002, the lawyer was the spokesperson of the National Convention Executive Council (NCEC) from 1997 to 2002.
Prof. Kibwana remained in the MP seat until 2007 and was appointed by the late President Mwai Kibaki as Advisor for Constitutional, Parliamentary, and Youth Affairs in the President's Office in 2008, where he served until September 2012.
He was later elected as Makueni Governor from 2013-2022.
