Former Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria has lost a High Court petition aimed at blocking the Director of Public Prosecutions from charging him and others in the Anti-Corruption Court.
In its ruling on Monday, September 30, 2024, the court stated that it could not interfere with the DPP's powers as outlined in Article 157 of the Constitution.
The Court further stated that the issues raised by Mwangi Wa Iria alongside his co-petitioners are matters that should be handled by the trial court.
