A middle-aged woman was rescued from a mob on Thursday morning in the Ngonda area of Matungulu Sub-county, Machakos County, after being caught stealing vegetables from a local farm. The woman was found harvesting sukuma wiki and had already filled two sacks when she was discovered.
Jane Kimeu, the farm owner, raised the alarm upon seeing the woman in her field, prompting a crowd to gather, demanding punishment. However, local resident Dennis Mutiso intervened, feeling the need to protect her from the angry mob. He swiftly escorted the woman to Tala Police Station to ensure her safety.
