Police in Bondo have launched investigations after an 80-year-old woman died inside a bus belonging to Ena Coach company traveling from Nairobi to Usenge.

Confirming the incident, Bondo Sub-County Police Commander Robert Aboki identified the elderly woman as Margaret Dima and may have been traveling alone from Nairobi.

“The body of the granny was discovered by a fellow passenger who then alerted the driver of the vehicle just a few kilometres from Bondo town.”

“The driver then drove the bus together with all the passengers to Bondo police station where he reported the incident,” added Aboki.

The driver told the police that the elderly woman looked sick when she boarded the bus in Nairobi—and that she had even been reserved a more comfortable seat at the back of the bus.

However, it is unclear if the granny had been traveling alone from Nairobi.

The body of the woman has been taken to Bondo Sub-county Hospital mortuary for preservation and postmortem.
