Two individuals were arrested for owning a police inspector’s gun that went missing two months ago at Jogoo Road Police Station in Kamukunji, Nairobi County.
According to police, Inspector Fredrick Muzungu's rifle was reported missing on August 23, 2024, shortly after he parked his car at the Station’s entrance.
Further, police revealed that the vehicle had no signs of having been broken into, raising questions as to how the criminals seized the rifle with 15 rounds of 9 mm calibre alongside a pair of handcuffs, a Motorola smartphone and a kabambe phone.
The area DCIO ordered Inspector Muzungu to be arrested to aid the investigations.
Two months later, children playing football near Railway House stumbled upon the rifle hidden under a kiosk located 900 meters from the station.
