Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has criticized the Kenya Kwanza administration, accusing it of allowing State-led abductions and extrajudicial killings.

Speaking at an opposition press conference on Wednesday, Kalonzo voiced concern over the recent early morning detention of activist Boniface Mwangi and the disappearance of Maverick Aoko, a vocal blogger and X platform personality.

While Mwangi has since been released, Aoko remains missing, with her family reportedly unaware of her whereabouts.

Kalonzo detailed how Mwangi was detained and accused of incitement upon release, yet no information has surfaced regarding Aoko’s status. Meanwhile, disturbing reports indicate that public mortuaries in Thika and Nairobi are seeking court orders to dispose of 201 unclaimed bodies left by law enforcement over the past year.

The online community has expressed unease about Aoko’s lack of activity on X over the past week. A post on her verified account, allegedly from an aide, claimed Aoko had traveled upcountry and would return for court matters tied to a false information case.

The post further revealed that Aoko found her Nairobi home vandalized upon a recent visit, with her building’s caretaker reporting inquiries from unidentified men regarding her location.

Kalonzo extended his criticism to telecommunications providers, including Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom Kenya, accusing them of illegally sharing customers' data with authorities to track and harass those seen as opposing government policies.

He condemned these companies for compromising Kenyans' safety and warned they could face criminal liability.

Furthermore, Kalonzo demanded President William Ruto's resignation, alleging that Ruto has pushed the nation back to a “police state” and violated his constitutional oath of office.

He criticized Ruto’s continuous denial of any knowledge of abductions and killings despite confirmation from now-impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. According to Kalonzo, Ruto bears primary responsibility for these actions and should step down to allow for transparent governance and respect for citizens’ rights.
