Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are intensifying their search for a suspect involved in a violent robbery at Ushirika Tower in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
The suspect, reportedly a Ugandan national, was caught on CCTV entering the building using a hammer.
According to a DCI statement on Sunday, the suspect was assisted by a Ugandan house help, identified as Everlyne, who facilitated entry to a sixth-floor apartment.

Once inside, the suspect and Everlyne allegedly assaulted 20-year-old Hakimo Muhidin, a Somali house help, inflicting severe injuries.
During the attack, the intruders stole various valuable items, including gold jewelry, unspecified cash in Kenyan shillings, U.S. dollars, and four laptops.
Hakimo sustained multiple injuries, including a broken tooth and significant trauma to her head, hands, and legs. She also exhibited marks on her back, suggesting she may have been whipped. After receiving medical care, she has been discharged and recuperates with family in Tassia Estate.
Authorities are also pursuing Everlyne, who the household had employed for just three weeks before the incident. She escaped the scene alongside the suspect.
At the time of the robbery, the tenant—a Somali man—was away with his children while his wife was in India for medical treatment.
