At least ten people have died and several others injured following a gruesome accident at the Iguhu River Yala bridge along the Kisumu - Kakamega road.
The accident occurred at around 6 p.m. after a tanker traveling towards Kakamega lost control and hit two matatus heading towards Chavakali.
Those injured have since been taken to nearby hospitals, including Mbale and Kakamega Referral Hospital, and reports indicate that the majority are in critical condition.
This comes a week after an unidentified motorbike rider died in a tragic road accident in the Empopongi neighborhood in Narok County on Wednesday at 3:00 am.
According to a police report, the incident happened about 8 kilometers east of the Narok Central Sub-County Police Station.

The accident involved an Isuzu FRR truck driven by Hudson Wycliffe Anjere, 54, and a Sonlink motorbike.
The motorcyclist was riding in the opposite direction of the truck, traveling from Maai Mahiu to Narok.
According to the police report, the motorcyclist lost control and collided head-on with the truck, dying instantly.
The truck driver was unharmed in the accident, and the deceased's body has been moved to the Narok Level 5 Hospital mortuary for identification and post-mortem examination.
