Global security firm G4S Kenya plans to lay off approximately 400 employees from November 2024 to April 2025.
In a letter to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, G4S stated that the redundancy exercise will affect staff across various locations, including management and unionized employees.
In a statement, the company cited challenging economic conditions and reduced revenue as reasons for the layoffs, which have increased the cost of business operations.
“This letter serves as a notice of redundancy under the provision of the Employment Act, 2007 Section 40.”
Despite the planned layoffs, G4S reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining operations in the Kenyan market.
