Kenya Power (KPLC) announced it has fully restored electricity following a major blackout that disrupted power supply across most of the country early Wednesday morning.

In a statement issued at 1:28 a.m., KPLC confirmed that large parts of Kenya experienced a power outage, leaving many regions in darkness except for sections of the Western and Rift Valley areas.

Approximately six hours later, at 7:35 a.m., the utility provider shared an update confirming the restoration of electricity to all affected areas.

"We are pleased to announce that power supply has been successfully restored nationwide following the widespread outage. We appreciate our customers' patience during the restoration process," KPLC stated.

Kenya Power, which serves over 9.6 million customers, noted that the outage also impacted internet connectivity throughout the country.
