Journalist Janet Mbugua is making her return to the media industry after an eight-year hiatus, joining Nation Media Group (NMG).

The announcement was made by NMG’s Head of Broadcasting, Simaloi Dajom, who praised Mbugua for her exceptional talent in captivating and engaging audiences.

“I am excited to inform you that renowned media personality, Janet Mbugua has joined Nation Media Group.

“Janet is highly skilled in engaging audiences on TV, Radio and Digital media,” she said in a statement.

Janet Mbugua's most recent media role was at Royal Media Services' Citizen TV, where she served as a prime-time news anchor alongside Hussein Mohamed.

In addition to anchoring, she took on roles as a show host and content producer. Mbugua has also gained experience working with media outlets in South Africa.

“Janet is an advocate of inclusivity for women and girls and is also passionate about amplifying voices for social change. She joins a vibrant team dedicated to delivering compelling, solution-driven content across our multimedia platforms.”

Janet Mbugua later founded the Inua Dada Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for primary school girls in Kenya. The foundation conducts research to identify barriers to education and collaborates with strategic partners to implement sustainable solutions.

Her move to Nation Media Group aligns her with other notable figures, such as Eric Latiff, who recently left Standard Group’s Spice FM to join NMG.
