Former Nation Media Group Managing Editor for Audience and Engagement, Oliver Mathenge, has taken on a new role as a consultant with Oxygène Marketing Communications Ltd.

In a statement on Thursday, January 23, Mathenge announced that he will be serving as an editorial and production consultant at the company.

"I am excited to share that I have kicked off a new role as an Editorial and Production Consultant at Oxygène Marketing Communications Ltd.

"I look forward to learning new things and offering my expertise to deliver the best for all Oxygène’s clients," Mathenge remarked.

Mathenge’s new role comes just weeks after he announced his departure from Nation Media Group. In a statement on December 27, 2024, he shared that he was leaving the organization to explore other opportunities, though he did not provide further details at the time.

"These past three years have been an incredible journey of learning, collaboration, and transformation, and I am deeply grateful for the experiences and relationships I have built within this organization," Mathenge said.

He added, "As I move forward, I carry with me the valuable lessons and experiences gained during my time at NMG. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and eager to continue contributing to the evolving media landscape."

Mathenge began his career at Nation Media Group in 2007, working as a news journalist until 2012.

He later transitioned to Radio Africa Group, where he steadily rose through the ranks to become the Group Digital Editor, overseeing outlets such as The Star Newspaper, Mpasho, Classic 105, and Kiss 100.

In December 2021, Mathenge returned to NTV as Managing Editor. Following organizational changes in April 2023, he was appointed Managing Editor for Audience and Engagement, a role he held until his departure.
