Police officers in Turkana are looking into a case where six bandits who are now terrorizing Turkana and its surroundings allegedly raped a pregnant woman.

The incident in Kainuk took place after the suspects broke into one of the area's schools.

According to the accounts provided by the witnesses, the suspects entered the church before gang-raping the victim and threatening to kill anyone standing in their way.

The Head of State had earlier directed a joint KDF police operation in areas where bandits are active.

Kenyans who responded to this occurrence by using their various social media accounts to voice their opinions have urged the government to take action against the growing number of bandits who have been killing people for decades.

After a recent stern talk, most Kenyans eagerly await to see the Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki's move.

Armed bandits currently terrorizing locals and an expectant teacher in Kainuk gang-raped a pregnant teacher at a school on the border of Turkana and West Pokot Counties on Sunday night.

He added that learning has also been disrupted at Kainuk FPFK Philadelphia Primary School, which is close to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit camp.

According to Ms Ruth Esekon, head teacher, there were just six male pupils in grade six, which is supposed to have 30 pupils as of Monday, 13, 2022. She added that most parents had taken their kids out of the school, which was to have 528 students, due to the escalating insecurity.

She claimed that teachers, the majority of whom are non-locals are afraid for their lives because the school's grounds have repeatedly been used as the bandits' escape routes whenever they steal animals or are defeated by police.
