City lawyer Danstan Omari says that his client david pkosing is innocent of all the charges against him, adding that his client does not own a white chopper.
Omari says that his client was picked up from his office by the officers in a very humiliating manner, with police claiming that he was the mastermind and the person financially supporting bandit activities in the northern part of the rift valley.
The advocate said his client does not own any white chopper used to transport bandits. He goes on to say that his client david, has given his account on all the days that they claim he was sponsoring the bandits and that he has been released to go home.
After his release, David pkosing said someone had warned him of the impending arrest. His lawyer collaborated this statement saying that a government official at the level of a Cabinet Secretary has no power to arrest anybody.

The lawyer says that the arrest was politically motivated and that his client is a target for being a member of the azimio coalition.
According to Danstan Omari, the issue, in this case, is that a Cabinet Secretary warned David that he would be arrested; this is not the case because the CS has no authority to arrest. The Inspector General of Police has absolute arrest power under Article 244/245; he only takes direction from the Public Prosecutions Director under Article 157. That is why the arrest of Mheshimiwa was a political witch-hunt.
He goes on to say that pkosing is from the Azimio wing of this country's politics, that he is the first to be arrested, and that we are imploring the government not to politicize the war on banditry. Mheshimiwa could have been summoned, or his lawyers or the Speaker could have been informed that he was needed here. This act is a humiliation and devaluation of the honourable MP's dignity.
