Logistic company Seven Stars is set to transport baobab trees in Kilifi County from February 15 to June 30, 2023, despite a ban by President William Ruto.
A notice by Seven Stars has warned road users to be careful as the firm will be carrying an abnormal load, warning road users to be careful.
The Baobab trees will be transported through Kilifi, Mtondia, Majaoni, Tezo, and Bofa Beach Road to Kilifi.
“All road users on the affected routes are adviced to exercise caution when in the vicinity of this abnormal cargo,” it said.

In 2022, the government cancelled a license that was issued to an international company after an outcry.
There were also some concerns about the impact of uprooting on the area’s biodiversity.
“I have instructed the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to look into the ongoing uprooting of Baobab trees in Kilifi County to ensure that it sits within the Convention on Biodiversity and the Nagoya Protocol,” Ruto said
