The High Court has declared Lagdera MP Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed's election victory in August 2022 invalid. Mohamed contested on the ODM party ticket and became the first parliament member in ODM to lose the seat.

Hussein was crowned the winner after receiving 5,939 votes in the August elections, surpassing his closest competitor, Abdiqani Zeitun, who received 4,863 votes. He has vowed to appeal the court's ruling.

Another victim is magarini mp Harrison Garama Kombe, who lost his parliamentary seat after the Malindi court nullified his election. This was due to a petition filed by UDA candidate Stanley Kenga.

Following massive irregularities such as ballot stuffing, reduction, and swapping results in favour of the IBC's declared winner, the court ruled that a by-election should be held in the constituency.
