Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has asked President Ruto to meet with Raila Odinga of the Azimio Coalition because, in his words, everything is unrestricted via dialogue.
Speaking on Sunday, Sakaja said that protests would worsen the situation for Kenyans because of how poor the economy is already.
Demonstrations won't assist in solving any issues. "To resolve this matter, I request that President Ruto reason with the Azimio coalition. The president is being misled by those who advise him not to hold discussions. This does not imply that we will shake hands, though. Nobody desires that", he declared.
"Nothing is beyond our ability to resolve. We are a single nation, not two nations".

He said the president was accommodating and eager to cooperate with the opposition.
The Governor added that President Ruto, the leader of his party, was a wise man.
The head of state, he claimed, was being misled by some leaders into refusing to engage with the opposition.
"I'm happy that the president has a lot of experience, and I'm confident that he will make the right decision because yeye ndio baba yetu lazima atushikilie sisi sote," Sakaja continued.
He characterized Ruto as flexible, willing to cooperate with all regions, and even willing to work for those who supported him and those who did not.
Nonetheless, Sakaja reassured Nairobi residents that they would be safe at the planned demonstration.
"Many inhabitants are worried about the scheduled Azimio la Umoja alliance rally", he claimed.
"There is a lot of worry expressed by Nairobi residents when you listen to them, as a result of the impending demonstrations. I want to reassure the Nairobi residents that we would look out for them. The entire nation is impacted if Nairobi ceases operating, according to Sakaja".
Sakaja's remarks come after president William Ruto said he would not listen to what Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga wants on the IEBC recruitment process.
