After Raila Odinga's convoy departed the Serena Hotel near the city centre, anti-riot police in Nairobi fired tear gas canisters at it.

On Monday at around 2:40 p.m., Odinga exited the hotel flanked by his co-principal Martha Karua and several opposition figures, including Eugene Wamalwa, the head of the Wiper Party Kalonzo Musyoka, and the leader of the Roots Party George Wajackoyah.
