On Monday morning, citizens in several Migori neighbourhoods began protesting before the countrywide Azimio la Umoja anti-government demonstrations.

Stone barricades constructed by protesters block the road connecting Migori and Isbania.

Videos accessed by Citizen Digital showed the protesters performing songs in the Dholuo dialect.

"We do not want to see policeman here," one of the protesters yelled.

Transportation and other businesses are suspended as police keep a remote eye on the situation.

The major march is likely to take place in Nairobi's capital, and it is planned that Azimio leaders Raila Odinga, Martha Karua, and other top brass allies will join protesters in outlining their demands.

'The police force is prepared and equipped to maintain law and order', Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome cautioned demonstrators who will take to the streets on Monday.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday ahead of protesters headed by Raila Odinga of Azimio One Kenya arriving on Monday, the IG promised to ensure calm throughout the nation.

"I have not given my approval to any protests. We have enough land cruisers to make arrests regardless of a person's status, and we are prepared as the police force to maintain peace throughout the nation, according to Koome.

At the same time that he criticized Azimio's requests to open the IEBC's election servers, he simultaneously acknowledged that he had removed the security of lawmakers who had declared their involvement in tomorrow's protests.
