To ensure the country's safety, Kisii Women Representative Dorice Donya Aburi has urged Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga to halt protests and embrace dialogue.

Donya pointed out that protests were slowing down the economy and recommended a meeting between President William Ruto and Odinga to resolve their differences for the country's good.

Speaking to the public at Ititi in Kitutu Chache South, where she donated food and clothing to locals as part of the Donya Charity Mission, she urged them to avoid participating in protests and instead focus on things that will bring them money.

"Several commercial entities have shut down as a result of protests, leaving people counting losses," she stated.

Donya claims that the economy is already in bad shape and that businesses need help reviving declining sales due to decreased consumer purchasing power brought on by rogue inflation.

She asserted that the time for politics is gone and that attention should go to ways to spur national development and lower the high cost of living.

She claims that given the ongoing protests, women and children are the most at risk, and she requests the help of security personnel to ensure their protection.

She denounced the murder committed at Maseno University last week during a protest.

She argued that the devastation created by the demonstrations was so great that the two leaders should try to compromise before things worsened.

Donya observed that most people obtain their daily income from small business ventures that they run to provide for their families.

"Let's sympathize for the common mwnanchi who lives from hand to mouth, going to the streets paralyzes their income," she said.

It is the second week of the protest, and Raila has vowed to continue organizing two weekly marches on Mondays and Thursdays until the government heeds his requests.
