Sabina Chege, a Murang'a County Member of Parliament, has urged Azimio leaders to cancel planned anti-government protests, stating that the nation requires calm.

While speaking at Kambara Secondary School in Mathioya Constituency, Sabina Chege stated that the ongoing demonstrations have no economic effect and only cause unrest in Nairobi and other parts of Kenya.

The lawmaker urged national leaders to promote harmony and calm in the country.

On the other hand, azimio la Umoja coalition leader raila odinga claims that he will not stop the protests and that Monday will be the mother of all demonstrations.

On Thursday, the opposition leader told protestors in Imara Daima city estate that he and his supporters will not call off the peaceful protests, even if it means clashing with the current administration.

"Nipigwe teke, nitupiwe teargas, nitupiwe maji au nifungwe pingu, sitarudi nyuma. Nipelekwe jela na hata Ruto apinge sisi, hatutarudi nyuma," said Raila

"Sisi si wendawazimu, na sisi si wajinga, ilhali sisi ni Wakenya wazalendo wanaotaka Kenya ikombolewe. Tunataka Kenya ibadilike na Wakenya wasidhulumiwe. Pia tunataka mabadiliko ya kikatiba na server ifunguliwe," said Raila.

After the protests, the former prime minister and other azimio la Umoja leaders had a press conference where they alleged they were shot. Raila odinga claims that his car was shot at seven times with live bullets

"We condemn in the strongest terms possible what has happened today. Today is a very sad day in the history of this country. This shows that we're degenerating into the colonial stage, where lives of Africans did not matter at all, because there's no reason why police should use this kind of force against unarmed citizens who are merely exercising their democratic rights," he said.

"My own car was hit seven times with live bullets, and the direction of the bullets were all aimed at me. These people have been threatening and blackmailing us, unfortunately the friends of this country are not helping. Look at the statement released by some ambassador based here, you would think that they live in a different country; they're actually adding fuel to this conflict, instead of being independent and neutral arbiters." he added.
