President William Ruto has told Kenyans that no extrajudicial executions will occur while he is in office.

On Monday, he spoke at the State House during an Iftar dinner attended by Muslim leaders nationwide.

"I promised during my campaign that I would put an end to extrajudicial killings," President Ruto remarked.

"No Kenyan will die for reasons that the Kenyan government cannot explain,"

According to President Ruto, the Muslim community has been the subject of extrajudicial murders under the cover of al-Shabaab, a terrorist organization.

President Ruto contended that, while the problem began with eradicating Muslims, it developed uncontrolled, and bodies started showing up across the country in mysterious killings.

"Mbeleni, hii maneno ya murders without trial ilikuwa inatarget waislamu ati juu ya maneno ya al-Shabaab," says Mbeleni.



"Finally, what took place, it was no longer about Muslims...........most people remained silent while Muslims were targeted, but what happened?" President Ruto took a selfie.

He referred to the River Yala murders, in which 36 bodies were discovered on the river in 2022, and the 'container of death,' in which an elite DCI unit was implicated in unlawful killings.

When President Ruto took office, he reformed Kenya's criminal investigation bureau (KCIB), announcing the resignation of the DCI's previous director, George Kinoti.


He later told the media that in 2022, police recovered at least 200 bodies around the country, all suspected of being victims of police killings.

"In the Nairobi area, there was a container where people were murdered in a police station." I mean, how did we get there? Was that some rogue institution? That's why I fired that Kinoti guy; it's not right. "There will be accountability," Ruto stated.
