President William Ruto announced that maize flour prices would fall significantly this week.

President Ruto stated in Meru County on Saturday that his administration is committed to providing inexpensive unga to Kenyans and eradicating poverty and hunger.

He claimed that despite taking office when the price of unga was supposedly at Ksh.230, his government had already managed to reduce it to Ksh.170 and is now dedicated to further lowering it to Ksh.150 and below.

The Head of State criticized the opposition Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition faction for their anti-government marches, implying that they will not assist in cutting the cost of living.

As a result, he advised Kenyans to ignore the calls of Raila Odinga's team to take to the streets, instead asking people to tend to their fields, saying that this is the only way they can improve their lives in the long run.

Reducing the cost of living in the country is one of the things the azimio la Umoja coalition aims for in the bipartisan talks with the kenya kwanza government.
