Pastor Ezekiel expressed his belief that a reputable mortuary should be located within a hospital's premises. This is after his ministry was associated with the deaths of some individuals who were taken in different morgues within Kilifi County.
According to a source, the troubled preacher had a particular beef with a funeral home called Milele Funeral Home which was located in Mavueni on the Mombasa-bound road.
He labeled the vicinity surrounding the funeral home as a dangerous black spot where accidents often occurred to generate clients for the mortuary.

According to reports, Ezekiel had expressed dissatisfaction with the operations of the Milele Funeral Home and proceeded to undertake a fast for several days. He then allegedly threw three bottles of holy water into the compound of the mortuary.
The mortuary reportedly experienced significant losses following this incident and eventually closed down. Pastor Ezekiel is said to view the shutdown of the mortuary as a positive outcome.
Nevertheless, the pastor is now facing scrutiny after allegations surfaced that a mortuary near his church supposedly receives numerous bodies daily, believed to be his congregants. An ongoing investigation is aimed at establishing whether or not he is involved in any way.
On Thursday, April 27, Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New International Life Church in Kilifi was apprehended on allegations of being an accomplice to Pastor Paul Mackenzie.
Coast Regional Commissioner Onyancha confirmed the arrest at a press conference and stated that Odero's church had been closed.
