On  Friday morning, a Land Cruiser carrying security officers rolled several times near Tambaya bridge along Gatitu-Mukurwe-ini road, following a tyre burst. The police reports have attributed the accident to the tyre burst.

According to the area police commander, the vehicle rolled over several times before eventually landing on its side, causing injuries of varying degrees to the occupants. The driver and some of the officers sustained head injuries and fractured hands.


After the Land Cruiser carrying security officers rolled over near Tambaya bridge along Gatitu-Mukurwe-ini road due to a tyre burst, residents and passers-by acted swiftly to rescue the officers from the debris of the vehicle. Emergency service providers transported the injured officers to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Fortunately, no fatalities were reported from the incident, but the wreckage remains at the accident scene.

In response to the incident, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has called on drivers to exercise caution on the road, particularly with the increased rainfall. The NTSA warned that even moderate rainfall can significantly reduce visibility, leading to accidents.


The NTSA has advised drivers to take several precautions while driving in wet conditions, such as ensuring that their vehicle's headlights are turned on, maintaining a safe distance from the car in front, and reducing their speed to avoid accidents.
