Pastor Paul Mackenzie, a controversial figure, was temporarily released on Tuesday by a court in Malindi. However, the pastor was re-detained soon after to face new charges at the Shanzu High Court.

Despite the prosecution's request for an additional 90 days to complete their investigations, Mackenzie and his six co-accused were granted bail by Malindi court senior magistrate Ivy Wasike.

Following the closure of the miscellaneous application by the prosecution, the accused will now be taken to the Shanzu law courts to face accusations brought under the Terrorism Act.

The seven were detained again on brand-new charges after being released in Malindi Court.

After being discovered preaching to people in an effort to starve and meet with God and Jesus Christ, Pastor Paul Mackenzie was detained last week.

Afterwards, police were called to his church, where they have so far saved 40 people who were in the process of waiting to die.

Also, Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New life church was arrested and is currently held up in Shanzu police station.
