The fate of the four renegade IEBC Commissioners depends on whether employees who willingly resigned from their positions can be summoned back to fill the vacated positions.

Political analysts, as well as Kenya Kwanza friends, have argued that the Commissioners who resigned at their own will cannot be reinstalled. Juliana Cherera, Francis Wanderi, and Julius Nyang'anya are impacted by this because Irene Masit was administratively fired from her job.

Despite the efforts made by Raila Odinga's team to ensure Cherera and her team's reinstatement, it appears that this demand will not be granted on a bipartisan basis.

This follows the clear declaration by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that the four renegade Commissioners cannot be reinstated. "The Commissioners who resigned voluntarily cannot be reinstated either," Rigathi Gachagua declared.

It appears that the incoming administration has already decided on the four obstacles preventing Cherera from being absorbed. It should be highlighted that the hiring procedure for a new team to fill IEBC roles is already underway, so Cherera Four cannot be recalled.
