According to the Polish Press Agency (PAP), a Polish mayor has died after falling from a fourth-floor window of a local hotel in Sardinia, Italy.
The mayor, dubbed Radosaw Grzegorz Ostakiewicz by his municipality, was touring the Sardinian village of Cagliari with the Polish delegation when he fell out of the window of a room at the Due Colonne hotel.
According to a Cagliari police official, Ostakiewicz was seated on the windowsill and lost equilibrium. He noted that the death was not being investigated as a suicide and that no violence was involved.
The mayor of Jaworze, a village in southern Poland, was 44 years old. According to a press release from the village's mayor, his death was "tragic" and an "unfortunate accident."
