The Samburu police are currently conducting an investigation into an incident involving a group of bandits who targeted a remote village with the intention of stealing livestock.

According to a reliable news source, the suspects launched an attack on the village residents but were eventually apprehended by the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF). The situation escalated into a shootout, resulting in an injury to a KDF officer. The suspects managed to escape from the scene.

Interestingly, these events coincide with recent statements made by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, who affirmed the government's commitment, under President William Ruto, to eradicate banditry throughout the country.

Several sources have confirmed that President William Ruto has also stated that the Kenya Defense Forces who were sent to Kerio Valley will not be leaving the region.

According to the reports given by the President, this is going to help stop suspects who might think about getting back after conducting the attack.
