KisiiKisii Governor Simba Arati has blamed police for insecurity in the area, the most recent of which was hacking a man in Kisii town.

The governor questioned Kisii County Commissioner on the status of the case, claiming that the suspect had been killing people while under cover of police.

"What do you want to tell us, Kiniki?" Are you in command, or have you given orders that there will be no peace and no business as usual in Kisii? "Why can't you ask the Governor or whomever to record statements?" Arati said.

He also chastised police for neglecting to question lawmakers suspected of being involved in the insecurity.

County Commissioner Tom Anjere told Citizen Tv that local politicians fund the groups.

"We have stated to the latter that the law should be followed regardless of the politician's position in the county government." We shall not have a chaotic town or county every day. Regardless of social background, the law is evident.

We have requested that the County police commander perform his duties. We have contacted the CID and ordered them to get to work, and the politicians backing these criminal organizations must face the consequences." The Commissioner asserted.
