According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), any access or withdrawal of funds sought by pastor Ezekiel Odero will jeopardize ongoing investigations.

Pastor Ezekiel applied two days ago to seek permission to withdraw at least Ksh. $ 50 million from his blocked bank accounts to maintain his ministry and school.

However, the investigator Martin Munene told the court that unfreezing some or all of the accounts would jeopardize the inquiry, and the court should let them finish their investigations.

During the application hearing, Pastor Ezekiel's lawyers, Danstan Omari, Cliff Ombeta, Sam Nyaberi, and Shadrak Wamboi, urged the magistrate to allow the besieged pastor to operate two bank accounts held by Cooperative Bank.

During the officer's cross-examination, the court was told that there are at least 28 bank accounts of interest. Sixteen accounts are with Cooperative Bank, 9 with NCBA, 1 with Equity Bank, 1 with KCB, and 1 with HFC.

The officer also informed the court that investigations are still underway, and they have yet to get a report from Safaricom.

A decision will be issued tomorrow.
