The conflict within the Jubilee Party continues, with a competing faction led by Eala MP Kanini Kega now claiming that the National Delegation Committee meeting convened by former President Uhuru Kenyatta had no legal ramifications and belonged to another party.

"It is unfortunate that the former president (Uhuru Kenyatta) has chosen the wrong side of history by defying a legitimate decision of the party organs, and even more so that he ceased being Jubilee Party leader on March 14," Kanini Kega remarked.

"Today's meeting at Ngong Racecourse was not a Jubilee NDC meeting, but rather another political rally with no legal ramifications."

On Monday, Uhuru convened the Jubilee NDC, where 11 party rebels, including nominated MP Sabina Chege, Kega, and Nelson Dzuya, were ejected to re-establish party discipline and boost its ranks.

Party leaders raised their concerns about them, accusing the members of fomenting internal splits and impeding their capacity to achieve their objectives properly.

Jamleck Kamau was appointed national director of elections, succeeding Mr Kega to strengthen the party's electoral strategy. Mr Kamau's background in grassroots organization and political system will likely boost the party's efficacy in the upcoming elections.

In addition, Jubilee named blogger Pauline Njoroge as its new deputy organizing secretary.

Maison Leshoomo, a rights activist, was chosen as Women's League national Cchair, emphasizing the party's commitment to gender equality and inclusivity.

During the jubilee party's National Delegates Conference (NDC) at the Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi, former president uhuru kenyatta said that he is not retiring from active politics any time soon.

"Nilikuwa kwa fikra zangu niende nishughulikie mambo mengi na nilikuwa nafikiria siku ya NDC itakuwa ya kuwambia wakati umefika wa kuwacha siasa na kupea wengine ushukani...hiyo ndio ilikuwa fikra yangu," Uhuru said

This statement comes when the former president has been receiving backlash from naysayers asking him to retire from politics and as the chair of the Jubilee party. A section of leaders from the kenya kwanza coalition has been asking him to hang his boots.
