The conflict between Siaya governor James Orengo and his deputy William Oduol has erupted, with the ODM party demanding that the latter resign.

Opiyo Wandayi, the ODM party's Secretary for Political Affairs and National Assembly Minority Leader stated on Tuesday that the toxic relationship between the two county leaders could disrupt service delivery.

Wandayi stated that following Oduol's resignation, Orengo should choose someone with whom he can work harmoniously.

This comes as Siaya MCA files an impeachment motion against the DG, alleging abuse of authority, gross misconduct, and violation of the constitution.

Gordon Onguru, MCA for East Asembo, introduced the motion shortly after the Siaya County Assembly adopted a report denying the Deputy governor's fraud charges against the administration.
