Authorities in Eldoret have initiated a crackdown on unsanitary eateries in the area, with one establishment being closed for building a makeshift pit toilet right within the kitchen.

The restaurant looks very inviting on the outside, and the establishment looks clean, but things change abruptly when you enter the kitchen area.

One of the factors that blew the facility's secret was garbage seeping into adjacent shops.

One shop owner near the restaurant claimed that his store was perpetually smelling of urine, which leaked into his store and destroyed some of his merchandise, including suitcases.

"We are fed up with what is going on here because the waste has been seeping into our shops and releasing a bad smell, which even scares customers," one merchant added.

Authorities have warned restaurants that are breaking the rules that they will face serious consequences.
