President Joe Biden of the united states of america slipped and fell after handing out the final diploma at the United States Air Force Academy's graduation ceremony on Thursday.

The 80-year-old US president promptly rose to one knee with the assistance of three others and walked back to his seat unaided.

Biden pointed behind him as he was being pulled up as if to identify what he had tripped over.

On Twitter, White House communications director Ben LaBolt stated that Biden was fine. "There was a sandbag on stage while he was shaking hands," he said.

The fall occurred after Biden delivered a commencement address to a flag-waving audience, in which he warned graduates that they would be entering duty in an increasingly unpredictable globe, citing threats from Russia and China.

Biden plans to run for re-election in 2024. Following a physical test in February, doctors deemed him healthy and fit for duty.
