The government opened two Jitume Digital Labs in Embu County on Wednesday.

The Jeremiah Nyagah Technical Institute and Runyenjes Technical and Vocational College openings are part of the government's transformative goal.

During the opening, Information and Technology Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo stated that the government would establish 1,450 village digital hubs and train a public workforce to provide efficient and effective service delivery in all work areas.

"The government is simultaneously delivering digital labs and training the youth in digital skills for online digital jobs." Furthermore, the government is connecting youth to jobs." CS Owalo stated.

Establishing digital labs across the country is part of the fulfilment of local charters signed with local communities ahead of the 2022 General Elections.

Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and ICT Principal Secretary John Tanui accompanied the CS.
