The Inspector General of Police has pledged to bring criminals engaged in the financial fraud of over 5,000 children in Eldoret to justice.

Koome told the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare at the KICC Nairobi that nearly 300 First Choice Recruitment Agency victims had already recorded their statements with National Police Service financial fraud investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

According to early investigations, the Agency formed under two directors, Judy Jepchirchir and Faith Waringa Gichuhi, reportedly misled teenagers last year by pretending to secure jobs and study placements in Qatar during the 2022 World Cup.

Koome promised justice would be done once the DCI's probe into the matter was completed.

Each purported kid paid Ksh. 40,000 and gave their passports to the organization but could not find work or study placement.

Victims and lawmakers accuse the police of dragging out the investigation.
