Kenya and Djibouti have signed four memorandums of understanding on various topics to strengthen bilateral ties.
According to a statement, the two countries inked an MOU to facilitate collaboration in the energy development sector.
The agreement calls for the parties to share technical skills, techniques, experiences, information, documentation, knowledge, and resources through reciprocal involvement, focusing on geothermal development.
President William Ruto said during the signing ceremony in Djibouti, "In line with this, I am thankful to my regarded counterpart, Omar Guelleh, for expediting the negotiations, facilitating the setting up of the necessary facilities and equipment, and initiating the execution of the proposed Hanle Garabbayyis project."

Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KENGEN) will drill two geothermal wells in Djibouti as part of the project.
President Ruto stated that KENGEN had completed phase one of the contract with the Office Djiboutien De Development De Energie Geothermique (ODDEG) and successfully dug one geothermal well in the initial Galla Le Koma project phase.
Kenya and Djibouti also signed an MOU on Technical Cooperation in the building of Youth Affairs and the Arts, which sets a framework for collaboration in the construction of new, cutting-edge sports and arts facilities.
Furthermore, the two countries will collaborate in the Foreign Service Academy.
Regular consultations and collaboration in educational and scientific fields will occur within the context of agreed-upon program activities.
Finally, they inked an MOU to collaborate in the tourism industry.
This agreement will strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation, promote sustainable tourism development, and enhance our tourism assets.
